The core charge per piece ordered is refundable.

You may need to replace the coupler. Proper Parts offers the coupler to customers who also purchase the transmission / gearbox. The (new) coupler OEM# 20614175 for GM-T8188R is $25.00 each from Proper Parts or contact GBodyParts. The (used, black rubber) coupler for GM-T7981R is $25.00 each.

You may need to replace the transmission / gearbox on both driver's side and passenger's side. Proper Parts offers 10% discount for purchase of (2) units as described above.
